Sports plays a critical role for what the Westside & Cultural Athletic Club represent.  Most youth experts would agree that teaching and allowing children to participate in an organized sport(s) will improve the child's psychological, emotional and physical needs. More>>

Peer on Peer Mentoring

Our "Peer on Peer Mentoring" program is to provide our participants with peer role models and caring adults to help them develop mentally, socially, physically and emotionally.  We want the youth co-facilitators to build relationships with the younger students, encourage them, empower them and help them with problem solving.  Not just better grades or resisting drug use, but also help the youth learn to understand and communicate their feelings, to relate to their peers and to develop relationships with the older adults in their lives (parents/teachers/neighbors).  Our youth set the policies and programs.  We have a policy committee, a program committee and a field trip committee. There is no greater joy than to enrich the life of a child with that of a Grandparent.  Many of the children that come through the Westside Cultural & Athletic Club do not have their biological Parents.  This is a unique opportunity that blends various generations with one another.   More>>

Cultural Enrichment

During our nutrition program, the children harvest fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, squash, eggplant, okra and zuchini. More>>
